Rapid Ideation 2: RTS inspired prototype
Genre: Tower Defense.
Engine: Unreal Engine 5.
Role: I worked independently on this project.
Duration: 2 Weeks (Summer 2025)
My main responsibilities for this project:
- Setting up the unit and building placement system.
- Making units able to collect materials e.g. Wood/Stone.
- Created icons for units in Adobe Photoshop and Aseprite.
- Setup a selection area where multiple units could be selected and directed to a new location.
- Created a functioning camera that can zoom in and out, reset zoom and move based on mouse cursor position on corner of screen.
This project was created as part of a 2 week rapid ideation sprint during my GDO711 module at Falmouth University. This was the second and last sprint I worked on.

This prototype isn't a complete gameplay experience, but it was a success in terms of developing a better understanding of technical systems that would be used to create a RTS game.

I created the icons for the unit types, with 3 different styles in total for red/blue/green.

If I had more time I would have explored creating more icons for the materials, as well as attempting to give units different behaviours e.g. blue unit runs faster, red unit carries more and so on.

Rapid Ideation 1: Spot The Difference
Genre: Puzzle.
Engine: Unreal Engine 5.
Role: I worked independently on this project.
Duration: 2 Weeks (Summer 2025)
My main responsibilities for this project:
- Setting up the 'Spot The Difference' mechanic.
- Editing the image differences for the famous paintings in Adobe Photoshop.
- Setting up a points system where points can be added or taken away based on player guesses and time taken.
- Creating UI assets in Adobe Illustrator for the first time.
This project was created as part of a 2 week rapid ideation sprint during my GDO711 module at Falmouth University.
For this sprint I created UI icons such as the stopwatch timer, magnify glass and the trophy. I also edited famous paintings to add differences as seen in the video above.

Most of the prototype was functional and differences could be selected, if I had more time to develop this prototype I would fix the issues with the scaling of the correct guess boxes to make it precise.

Overall the game does function and you can select an area of the painting to get a correct or incorrect result. The score will update based on a correct/incorrect guess and if 10 seconds had passed.
